Talents or skills: Intuitive aptitude; the ability to analyze complex systems and intuitively understand how they work without special education or training. Gabriel isn't and has never been aware of this ability and just thinks that he has a "knack" when it comes to fixing things.

History: Born to an overbearing father and a overly expectant mother in slightly less than middle-class area of Queens, Gabriel Gray was a child who was always eager to please, going out of his way to make sure that everyone else was happy even if it made him miserable to do so. That was probably a tendency that he learned from his mother who never complained a day in her life no matter how much she made it clear that she wanted something better than what she had, if not for herself then for her son.

Gabriel was the kind of boy in school that teachers dream about, quiet, attentive, helpful, studious, and smart, but the very things that made him adored by the faculty were the same things that made him an outcast among his peers. It didn't help that his limited social interaction (mainly consisting of his mother and father) had left him at a loss for exactly how to interact with anyone who wasn't nearly thirty years his senior.

His teens were probably the most painful time for Gabriel. His mother was pushing him to achieve far beyond what he conceived as his abilities. His father was forcing him to learn his trade so that the business wouldn't be worthless when he died. And his increasing awkwardness left him devoid of any sort of social contact outside of his quite dysfunctional family. Eventually, he started to have fantasies about someone coming to tell him that his family wasn't really his family, that he wasn't as insignificant as he felt in the greater scheme of things, and that they had come to offer him an escape from the mundane existence that he had to endure.

It wasn't until his late twenties, however, that this dream came true. A man by the name of Chandra Suresh showed up at his door, offering him the chance of a lifetime, the promise of perhaps being more than just a watchmaker's son turned watchmaker.

Gabriel is more than a little upset that he ended up here before anything could come of it.
